Friends of the Earth
‘Friends of the Earth has appointed Jessie on a number of strategic marketing campaigns since 2017. Jessie first started working with us on an emerging public campaign on plastic pollution, with a remit to develop the campaign marketing strategy including an objective of audience reach and acquisition.
From the outset, Jessie demonstrated a fantastic ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and enthuse people with her ideas and approach. She was able to take a very headline steer and create clear objectives and a strategy to deliver, whilst bringing the team along with her.
Jessie’s has a huge amount of experience of delivering successful marketing campaigns in the cultural sector and she brought a new level of ambition and creativity to the team.
Jessie delivered a clear, ambitious and achievable strategy within a tight timeframe, including audience insight and targeting, which is still being used to guide the work of the team a year on.
Our plastics pollution petition being our most successful ever, and we have significantly grown our social media following over the last year, in large part as a result of the marketing approach.
This foundational piece of work was not possible for us to create inhouse and required leadership and an ability to work with multiple, sometimes conflicting stakeholders.
I cannot recommend Jessie highly enough! She is consistently a pleasure to work with and her work ethic, determination and ability to cut-through organisational barriers would make her an asset anywhere.’

Action on Postpartum Psychosis
‘I just wanted to say thanks for arranging this campaign. I posted on both Instagram and Facebook and was surprised how many people responded and it was all so positive. Hopefully it got the message out there a little bit more.’

‘In recent years we have used a combination of demographics, personas and Culture Segments to describe our audiences. Following a major strategic review and restructure, more closely aligning our museum and library offer (onsite and online) we aspired to find a common language that would work across the organisation and across touchpoints. After so much change the time to push this forward wasn’t right until recently, which is when we approached Jessie.
Jessie has experience of similar scoping and consultation exercises in relation to audience segmentation. Her methodical approach and objectivity meant she gently gained buy-in from key senior stakeholders, some of whom I thought may be resistant. In doing so the project has been able to progress more quickly than expected. This is partly through the desk research Jessie conducted and consultation with external organisations in parallel, which provided an evidence base and enabled her to share the benefits and examples of good/best practice.
Jessie has an excellent work ethic and is passionate about segmentation and its value. I am now a complete advocate and can’t wait to take the project forward. I highly recommend Jessie if you want to review your approach to segmentation. She builds brilliant relationships internally and is very well connected externally, having worked across many cultural institutions and charities in strategic marketing roles.’

Royal Opera House
‘Jessie worked with us at the Royal Opera House on the launch of our new streaming platform. Her expertise and marketing skills were invaluable and she created and delivered a really strong campaign.
Jessie joined at a very busy time and led the project incredibly efficiently with her signature strategic approach and amazing organisation. Jessie is positive, genuine and collaborative – she worked with the in-house team seamlessly, and brought positive team spirit and empathy to her work with us.
Jessie has the ability to challenge teams and external agencies to think outside the box and work in new and creative ways. She is incredibly capable and steered the project with enthusiasm and passion – always going the extra mile to make sure that everything is delivered. I am not sure what we would have done without her!
I would highly recommend Jessie – she is a real asset to every project I have worked on with her on and I hope we will have the opportunity to work with her again in future.’

British Museum
‘The British Museum Marketing Department has used Jessie Hunt as a freelance Marketing Consultant on numerous occasions in the past two years. She has come in to complete and deliver campaigns for temporary exhibitions such as Hokusai (and Hokusai Live) and the American Dream following the staff departures. Jessie contributed additional strategic thinking to the campaigns and used her considerable negotiating skills to reassure and guide internal stakeholders. She helped us reach target audiences and delivered campaigns to time and budget.
Jessie is a very experienced marketing professional who can speedily get to grips with a brief, understand the organisations objectives, work to tight deadlines and deliver results. I would certainly recommend Jessie for similar projects and wouldn’t hesitate to use her in the future.’

Barbican Centre
‘We were so pleased to get Jessie on board to plug an important gap in the planning process for a special exhibition. With all her great experience, she completely hit the ground running. Jessie delivered an outline marketing strategy, as well a clear marketing partnerships plan, working with key stakeholders across the organisation and raising some vital questions for the exhibition along the way – all in the very short period of just 4 weeks. It’s always a huge pleasure to work with Jessie. She brings a very insightful and creative perspective to everything she does. I would recommend her unreservedly and really look forward to working with her again.’

V&A
‘The V&A has worked with Jessie for a number of strategic projects. The V&A’s tourism marketing strategy and audience segmentation projects were big pieces of pressing work to make the strategic case for investment. Both projects needed a significant level of expertise, quality and weight of work. Jessie also delivered the campaign strategy for the exhibition Food: Bigger than the Plate when we were short staffed and needing to quickly get the project off the ground.
A direct result of Jessie’s tourism marketing strategy was that it made the business case for 3 years of tourism marketing budget and dedicated headcount – super useful for the V&A.
As a result of Jessie’s audience segmentation report and recommendations, we commissioned a new audience segmentation that was rolled out across the V&A. This piece of work enabled key stakeholders to get up to a level playing field in understanding and knowledge, so that when the project started, they understood the purpose and the benefits.
What I love about Jessie is that she comes with no preconceptions and isn’t trying to second guess the outcome. This enables a clear and thorough process – allowing for digging under every rock. With her external experience and informed knowledge about the sector, it also means she isn’t bound in the talk of “we tried that 3 years ago and it didn’t happen”. She takes a brief and gets on with it, planning her time well. She is good with people and knows how to work with curators, learning, marketing and commercial teams.
Jessie has experience in a mix of sectors, with sufficient knowledge outside the arts and culture sector to give a fresh pair of eyes and distance to a project.
I would recommend Jessie, absolutely, for her range of skills and expertise, her methodical and transparent approach and her understanding of how the world works.’
